Feeling defeated by pcos

Krystal

Hey all I'm new here...was wondering about your ladies success with Femara. Here's my story.

I'm 23 and TTC baby #1. I was diagnosed with PCOS in May of 2015..& I have a history of Very irregular periods. My SO and I have been trying for some years now (about 5 years) and I just feel like I'm at my breaking point.

I started seeing a reproductive specialist in October 2016. She decided to have me try Provera & Femara. I was to start this in January due to me having alot going on at home (we were moving, wanted to get settled in first). Well naturally of course I started my period on my own so we decided not to take any meds that cycle. I had a blood draw for day 21 to see if I ovulated and my nurse called and said "well you didn't ovulate so you can go ahead and start the Provera." Right after that I started my period. So that threw them off. We decided to take the Femara 5mg CD 3-7 at bedtime. I went on CD 10 (still bleeding) for my midcycle ultrasound and my follicles weren't really mature at all. So they decided to bump my dosage of Femara to 7.5 for 5 more days. Went back on CD 18 for my 2nd ultrasound and has 2 follies on the right both measuring at 12mm. We were to be together on CD 21 - 23 (we did) and I was to test CD 36 which was March 21st for me. I took a test the 20th cause I'm impatient and got a BFN. Took another today and same thing. I'm cramping really bad so I'm almost positive I'm going to get my period today. I guess where I'm going with this, is even though I've only done one round of meds I'm feeling really bad like it will never happen. After trying so long with nothing, then getting the news of pcos and trying meds I thought it might work. I know i have a long way to go. I'm just feeling down on myself.

Has anyone else tried Femara? If so, what was/how is your experience?
