Do you ever feel bad for calling the doctor???

Question

I went in today for painful cramping, excessive discharge and just feeling uncomfortable. Thank God, there was nothing wrong with me or baby. But I feel so stupid for wasting their time! I wanted to be safe and just make sure, but I can't help but feel a little embarassed I called and went in. Has this happened to anyone else??

EDIT: I called and just told them my symptoms, they told me to come in and get checked. I didn't request to be seen or anything!

My husband is an ob. He always says it takes a minute to reassure fears and you'll feel so much better. He has gotten pages and calls at all hours of day to check his patients. It's no big deal. It's your body. Never feel bad for making sure everything is going ok.

Most docs would rather have you stress about something and have it be nothing than to have you think nothing of it and it possibly being something. If they asked you to come in then really don't worry about it.

I feel the same 😓 I've been putting off calling to ask them about some sharp inner pains I had the other night which didn't continue consistently but I'm still curious if it's dilation or just baby engaging more or what

I mean usually they tell you to go with your gut and they want to help, so try not to feel bad. But I totally get it. For some reason I feel dumb and hold off ever calling or going in cus I don't want to "waste their time", even though my husband thinks it ridiculous and tells me to ask anything I need and call whenever I want lol Just can't do it

I used to feel bad but not anymore. This is my first pregnancy and I rather be safe than sorry.

Don't worry about it. You felt legitimate concern and as such the doctor works to help you relieve that fear. That is just as much an important part of their job as anything else they do

Are they mild symptoms? Do you call in and  tell them what you're experiencing and they have you come in?
