Summer family get away with an infant? 🤔🤔

So my daughter is due to be here on April, 11.. my MIL keeps saying that she wants us to go visit her side of the family in Corpis Christi this summer (9 hour drive from Dallas), but my daughter will on be about 3 months old. I don't want to take her and I've made up my mind already, but she keeps insisting the baby would be fine and begging us to come. Plus, even though her side of the family is super nice, I don't feel comfortable going somewhere I've never been with a new born... 
when was the earliest you took your baby on a road trip? Or a trip in general..

By three months she'll have had vaccinations (if you are vaccinating) and they usually travel well since they sleep a lot during that age!  We love traveling w our babies bc they're so portable!

I personally wouldn't go that far away with my baby that small, I want the comfort of my own home at night when I've just had a baby

No offense to anyone, but have you BEEN to Corpus Christi before?! Not exactly my idea of a vacation. I personally hated it and I had to live there. That being said if you don't want to go, don't. If you do go make sure you and baby have a separate bedroom for yourselves so you both can get away and rest when needed.

I think it depends on the parents..everyone is different. Personally if it was my family, I'd do a trip to see them. Although 9hours seems long, you can stop or stay overnight somewhere to break up the ride. In the end, you're going to family and they will help you. It would be different if it was a vacation away.

The earliest i took one of my kids out was about a month, my daughter was born on November 28 and I took her to family's house 1 hour away. We weren't that far tho, i say go with your gut, she's your baby😘good luck

Put your foot down!  My son was 12 days old when we had to go to my brother in laws wedding. However,  it was only 2 hrs away.  I had a friend who is a nurse lined up to watch him. She came down with a cold, so we brought him to the church and I skipped the reception and brought him back to my in laws.  My sis in law tried to plan family trips all well over 12 hrs.  I told my husband he was welcome to go, but my children and I were not. There will be plenty of time for vacations and family reunions in the future.

I'm flying to France from the west coast, ALONE, when she's 3 months old. So.....that's pretty far.

I took my daughter on an 8 hour trip when she was 3 months and it was HORRIBLE! Haven't done it since and she's a year now.
