So at my appointment yesterday, i was offered the different prenatal tests to check for issues with baby. Well, finally my office is offering the non invasive prenatal tests (like the Harmony test). It is called a Panorama prenatal screen from Natera. So they told me to check and see if my insurance would cover it. It is the one i really want done this time.

So i called my insurance yesterday.... they told me my provider should contact them to ask, because they needed the test codes. Ugh. Well, my office was closed by then. I tried looking at Natera's website for the out of pocket price. It told me to call them and see. I called. They were closed too! Like what the heck!

So i called Natera this morning, only to have an 12 person wait before me, and then get disconected. I called my OB office to ask if someone could help me with my insurance, or at least give me the codes so i could ask. Instead they gave me the direct number to their clinical guy with Natera.

I called him, asked him if he could help me, he said sure. He asked which insurance i had and then he laughed. He then proceeded to tell me that "Well your insurance does not cover this test, but, we will do it, they won't reimburse us at all, and we still will not bill you." I'm like really? He told me that yes, my insurance just doesn't like to reimburse them for the test, but they are ok with that, and i still will not be charged to have it done.

So i get to have this test done, and no money out of pocket, and my insurance doesn't even have to co-operate!

So i am trying to see when my OB office will let me come in to have the blood drawn for it.
