How soon will you return back to work?

Question

I accepted a really good job and then got pregnant! We actually deferred <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IVF</a> for a while until I settled into my new job and then get pregnant naturally after trying for 2 and a half years!

This is our first and I'm starting to show at 6 weeks and won't be able to hide it until my probationary has passed.

I want to tell them at the latest opportunity and let them know I am willing to work hard throughout my pregnancy and not take the whole year off.

My question is, how soon will you return back to work? Would it be hard on the baby for me to go back after 4 months? I'll work 2 days from home with the baby and 3 days nursery.

My plan is to go back after 6 weeks. That's how much I get paid for, but if we're not ready, I'll take 6 more unpaid. My husband owns his own business so he is planning to take a day or two off per week to watch the baby and his grandmother will watch the baby for the rest of the week so we won't need daycare (hopefully).

I went back after 8 weeks with my son but that's only because we financially had to. This time around I plan on taking longer, I'll work part time I I need to but not going back full time for a while. (I work for my dad so I have plenty of flexibility lol) I didn't work for my dad the last time around so I'm very blessed this time.

I'm in a very similar situation as far as working from home a few days and needing day care the other couple days. I will be returning after 10 weeks, but I don't plan on putting baby in daycare.... I plan on hiring a part time nanny or working out arrangements with family to watch her while I am in the office. I work from home 85% of the time.

I am a ftm as well. I plan on taking at least 6-12 weeks, just because this is my first and I know some I want to bond with my child and do things right. I will be breastfeeding as well.

I'm won't have to go back to work. After the baby comes I'm staying home permanently.

I have gone back as early as 11 days postpartum (didn't qualify for short term disability and used most of my FMLA prior to delivery. But usually it's six weeks. With 4 of my 5, it's been six weeks on the dot. All but once without pay. I couldn't stand to stay home much longer than that.
