37+3 all natural
I lost my mucous plug at 37 weeks plus 2, and following had a bloody show. My pregnant was super smooth. The next day I felt like I was leaking fluids. Went in and sure enough I was slowly leaking amniotic fluid and when checked was 3cm dilated and fully effaced. Heading straight to the hospital. At first I didn't even feel contractions, but they were just period like cramps. Was checked an hour later and was at 4cm. Had my water broken by the midwife and things really picked up. Five and a half hours later I was at a 6. I labored on hands and knees, walked around, laid on my side with a peanut ball, tried sitting on yoga ball and used birth bar on my knees. At the end I tried the tub but found it too hot and I needed to push. Was checked again and was at a 10! I used the birth bar to hoist my legs up and sat up in incline bed. I pushed for an hour and my daughter was born. No tears, and I didn't use any drugs - even though I wanted to a few times. My husband and the midwife and nurses were incredibly supportive. I had dim lighting and my own music playing. I was never offered drugs per my request. My husband got to tell me "Its's a girl!" as he was sobbing. It was beautiful. My daughter was 6.6lbs and 20 inches with no complications. She was immediately placed on my chest where she stayed for over an hour. I feel empowered and so grateful.
