3d ultrasound- worth it ?

Question

In 4 weeks I have a Drs appt and I will be almost 28 weeks and thinking to schedule a 3d ultrasound.

I had plans when I get pregnant to do a 3d ultrasound..and especially this is our rainbow baby boy , I really want to but it's not covered by insurance and it's over $100. I can afford it but..

Is it worth it doing a 3d ultrasound?

It was one of the best experiences in life for me! We went to stork visions and have a 30 minute session. Brought my Dad, mom, sister & fiancé along and it's amazing to get to see your baby with a face and moving in such great detail...

Yes, but I would wait longer than 28 weeks.

I scheduled mine yesterday for 15 weeks so my grandma can see and we can confirm the gender

I recommend doing it after 34 weeks. We did one at 24, 28, 30, 34, and 36 weeks. Our 36 week 3D is by far the best. It actually looks like our son. At 24 weeks he still had very little fat on him and he changed so much between 24 and 36 weeks.

This is my 3D from 30 weeks, regretfully this was the best we got because she was sitting crazy low and right up against my uterus so there wasn't enough fluid around her face for a good shot, but this is what we saw from the ultrasound and then my daughter at 2 and a half weeks! 
I can't only imagine how much similar it'd look if we were able to get even better pictures

You get a great quality ultrasound, but may never look at the video or pictures you get in the package again. I thought about doing it this time around, but decided against it because we chucked the photos in a cabinet and haven't seen them since.
