Are 3D ultrasounds worth the money?

I only did it because I just like to see the resemblance once they're born. Just add some cute baby fat and it's almost identical

There are some studies showing negative effects of ultrasounds when done without medical concerns or good reason. I know it it is a long shot that something bad will have never ends but I'm to paranoid to have something done that doesn't really have to be done. So I personally don't plan on getting it done.

My son at 26w compared to me 
And my son at 28 weeks, it was the coolest experience. It's live and I saw him yawning (the black and white photo) and making different faces. It's like skyping your baby lol they are expensive ($120 a session) but sooo worth it

Just curious about how frequently this is not a standard offering in the U.S. these days? I've received 2 as a matter of course during regularly scheduled ultrasounds, as have all of my friends across the country. It wasn't even a different procedure, they just switched the monitor feed and it shows up that way!

If you are high risk then I would say yes. If not, I would say no. Especially if you go to the independent ultrasound places some are not knowledgeable on the safety of them. Ultrasound should only be used for medical reasons.

My doctors office did mine and I didn't have to pay any extra for it I just asked if they were able to she switched a setting and there he was in 3D without having to pay all that extra money

I had 2 done for free. The tech doing my ultrasound switched it over to 3D without me even asking but it could have been because I was high risk at one point. If you have the money for it though you should definitely do it

Not to me, but I know others who love them and are glad they got one. I think they're quite creepy looking and off putting.

Just FYI, the best time to do it is 29-34 weeks. The 3D/4D ultrasound placeI'm going to stressed this to me and highly encourages this time frame.
