Insecure

I've tried several times to lose weight on my own at home but it just isn't working for me. I'm looking into joining a gym. I'm extremely nervous. I'm not in the best shape. I know everyone goes to the gym to better themselves and their bodies but I'm very nervous to go into a gym. I'm insecure but I'm ready to change for my self because I want to be happy and healthy. If anyone has any tips for me I would love to hear them.
