Do you think that there are consent issues with taking photos of your child, such as bath photos?

This got brought up with a family member, because we were talking about someone we know that posts inappropriate photos of her daughter that often get deleted for nudity. The mother doesn't see them as inappropriate, but according to Facebook policy they are (usually show her butt, her in her underwear, etc). 
I don't think you should post photos that show the child's butt or any other place that could make the stretch to be considered child pornography, not only because of people out there with malicious intent but also because the child can't consent to their body being shown like that to the public. The person I was discussing it with said she doesn't think it's a big deal, "everybody she knows has cute bath pictures that show their baby butt", and that she took similar photos of her own kids, and had Facebook been a 'thing' then she would have posted them. And that consent isn't an issue when you're a child, your parents make all decisions like that, even to do with your body. What do you think?

I don't think it's okay to take naked pictures of children and post them online. It's gross to me and there are predators in this world. I get proud parents with no sexual intent behind this, but still. It's gross.

I think it's fine to take them, but fucked up to post them online. It's bad enough that my mom wants to show anyone I bring over to meet her those pictures and videos...can't imagine what it would be like to know they're plastered all over the Internet.

It's really not ok to post pics of your child naked or with little clothing. We all leave a digital footprint. Even when we delete things. It's really unfair to the child when they have no say. Furthermore there are weirdos who get off on that stuff. They can copy and share! Child abuse usually happens with someone your child knows. We all think we "know" people but we don't. Don't put yourself or your child in that position.

I hate seeing people post pictures of their children in underwear or their bums showing etc. I think it's really irresponsible. Once it's on the internet anyone can get it and it's out there forever. Those photos are fine for a family album.

I personally do not post pictures of my child naked or in her underwear for this exact reason. Not only could there be a predator online, but she didn't give me consent to post her naked body online. The reason why I feel this way is because my own mother posted a picture of me as a child in my swimsuit, in sort of a downward dog position with my swimsuit bottom pulled down so that just my little butt crack was showing… But as an adult I saw it and I didn't like seeing myself being naked online, especially as a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. It really just made me cringe. So I asked her to take it down and she did. For that reason and how I felt about that, I won't do it to my daughter.

Consent legally would be deferred to the parent, within reason. I personally don't agree with putting these photos online, but that is my personal stance, I love seeing the pictures of the babies wherever they are.

When I have kids, I'll surely have a photo or two of them in the bath, but they're my personal photos. I'll only post photos of them clothed, no matter if they're 1 month or 6 years old.

If it's a baby? Yes. If it's a school age child or even a preschooler? No. It really depends on the age of the child and the nature of the picture. I have a 6 weeks old and I have posted bath pictures on my private facebook (even tho you cannot see the private parts, but when my oldest was 2 I had a picture of her butt naked in a cottage playing in water. She was squatting so you could not see private parts tho)

I think its odd that a parent would put a picture of their baby's bare butt on the Internet. There are predators out there that can see that stuff and nothing is safe on the Internet. Pictures of babies in their diapers i dont think is as bad as many people let their kids just run around in daipers especially when its hot but i think once they get to a certain age it should stop and they should be covered appropriately.
