Thoughts? temporary assistance errors

What are your thoughts on this?  This is an audit that shows 33% (super small sample) shouldn't have been receiving their temporary benefits due to ineligibility.

Basically, they audited 24 families receiving the benefits and 8 shouldn't have been receiving.  The solution? More training for county workers.

It's sad on both points because I'm sure those families are borderline and may have counted on the benefits.

Yes, I know it's a small sample but what do you think?

It's sad because those families have to pay all that money back eventhough it was the county worker's mistake. It's called agency error. I agree with you, they were probably around the borderline and just because they didn't qualify doesn't mean they're going to have an easy time paying all that money back. :/

It's sad for the families, because even if they weren't eligible, that means they were on the borderline and therefore still needy. Unexpected financial events like this are what low income people live in fear of. It's truly a nightmare situation.

That county has a problem, I would want to know why the problem exists before making a decision.
