Should I consider this name?

My husband has a German last name. We came across a unique name that is of German origin he'd like to consider: Meta. We'd been drawn to Megan, Maggie and Margaret which this is a variant of. And we are both in the tech field. But because this is a saying the past few years, as in, 'that's so meta (self-referential)' I immediately dismissed it. Should it stay on the list of contenders? Obviously a concern of mine is I don't want her being made fun of.
