What breasted pump is the best in your opinion and why?

I use the Spectra and even had to have it specially shipped to Canada. 
But it was worth it. It is the only breast pump that works for me. Plus it 'massages' or vibrates as it pumps which helps me a lot with let-down.

Spectraaaaaaa. It's amazing, and way gentler on my nipples. I used a hospital grade ameda pump in the hospital, and did not compare in the quality and comfort. Plus, It has done a great job at getting my milk out efficiently in like 10 minutes (on low settings) which is great for the days I'm super uncomfortable.

I used both the medela and Spectra and the Spectra S2 is way better. Much more comfortable. I get way more per pump. Much more customizable as far as pump settings. The only con of the Spectra is the lack of accessories available.

I have the medela freestyle and really love the compactness and portability. I can easily put it in any purse. I thought I would need a manual one because I travel (fly) a lot for work and didn't want carry anything too heavy or require a seperate bag but with this I don't need it. I think the suction is very good.

I love the spectra s2. It came with two different size flanges. It is a closed system. You can customize the suction and mode each time. It was easy to figure out. Easy to clean the parts. I have tried the hospital grade medela and the spectra s2. I prefer the spectra s2. I can get more milk out and its more comfortable for me. Best of luck in your decision making!

I have the medela pump in style which is super popular but I have some problems with it. You turn it on by turning the speed on, which means you can't find a speed you like and leave it set, you can turn the dial to the same area every time, but I wish there was a separate on/off switch.

It has a let down feature that starts automatically 2 minutes after you start which is nice, but the button itself is a little sticky and difficult to hit if you need to at a time other than the 2 minute wait.

I also have to readjust the face plate sometimes to get the correct suction, which is irritating.

It's totally not a bad pump but if I had known a little more about pumps I would have gone in a different direction. However, everyone has/sells medela parts so it is great to have new bottles/horns/whatever so easily accessible!

I'm currently using the spectra s2 and I love it! I get multiple letdown in one session and it's very customizable as far as the intensity and suction stopped are concerned. They can be varied independently. The suction is more like a vibration and suction. It's really effective for me considering how gentle it is. It's quiet and it has a night light too (I do a lot of pumping at night). I don't like the shield and bottles that come with it but I'm able to use my medela bottles and flanges with it.
