heartburn advice?

Question

Anyone have some tips or anything? My heartburn is so bad I'm getting zero sleep!
I've tried a few things of what I know just wondering if anyone is doing something I haven't tried yet. Speaking to my midwife tomorrow but need to survive the night lol

Thanks ladies 😊 I ended up going to see a doctor and he prescribed me some wonderful medication that has worked yay!

Try a teaspoon of baking soda in a small glass of water. Chug it all. It'll make you burp & tastes nasty but it works wonders instantly. I usually drink a bottle or 2 of water after as well

For ongoing management, I take slippery elm (natural product).  It won't give you instant relief but has helped.  I'm limiting taking medication as they are designed to settle too much stomach acid.  However heartburn in pregnancy isn't due to too much stomach acid but the muscles being loose and let's acid out.
I have to sleep with two pillows, which helps and has minimised me getting woken up coughing over the acid in my mouth.

I was told to have milk and then realised it did nothing for me. If your suffering really bad you can speak to your gp who may suggest meds to take. With my 1st pregnancy I was prescribed a liquid version of gaviscon but it made me heave too much. Now with my 2nd pregnancy i took gaviscon tablets and they work wonders. 
Always check packages and stuff or speak to gp xx

My doctor told me to elevate my back and head slightly. Also no sodas, acid type food, pretty much any food lol. Meaning for me : not a ton of dairy. Nothing tomato-y. No citrus. Once I took the citrus and tomato based products out heartburn severely went down. Still had some bough. But tolerable. My sugar levels were elevated. So I had to majorly cut down carbs and sugar.  Once I did that I haven't had any heartburn.
