Belated birth story.
So this is super belated since my baby girl is 4 months old but here goes. I was 38+6 and adamant I was going to go 2 weeks overdue. I was having a shower then I got out and sat on the edge of the bath to put a panty liner on. I stood up and said to my partner "oh I think I just weed myself, except it keeps coming" (completely forgetting I was heavily pregnant). He then was like "uhh it's probably your waters babe" so I got him to call my sister and I went and sat on the gym ball. I wasn't going to call the hospital but I'm glad I did. Contractions s started 10 minutes after waters breaking 2-3minutes apart. Went into the hospital straight away to be assessed. The drive there was horrible especially cause my partner kept trying to talk to me hahah. Got to the hospital and didn't grab the hospital bags from the car cause I was adamant I was gonna be sent home. Go to the ward and they were extremely busy so I had to wait in the hallway to be assessed for 30 minutes. They didn't know I was labouring and when I finally told one of the midwives my contractions were at this point 1 minutes apart I finally got assessed. I was 8cms within an hour of my waters breaking. Realised I couldn't get an epidural so I lost my shit. Got my partner to call my sister and student midwife and tell them to hurry up cause it was happening quickly. My midwife was HORRIBLE she was so nasty and so unhelpful. My sister and my student midwife were way more helpful than her. Within another hour I was ready to push. I pushed for 1 hour and 15 minutes. I wasn't pushing properly due to no guidance from my midwife. It wasn't until my sister and student midwife gave me a pep talk and the bitch midwife couldn't find Bubs heart beat that I gave it my all and within 9 minutes she was out. Came out stunned and o wanted delayed cord clamping but the bitch midwife cut the cord immediately because she was stunned (cord was still beating so she was still getting oxygen). My bitch midwife then disappeared for 2 hours. My sister (luckily she's a nurse) and my student midwife had to do everything. While the obstetrician assessed me and my vagina. I had quiet extensive tears (4x 2nd degree tears including a perineal tear). I was sucking on the gas constantly while I was being stitched up which took 2 hours and I lost quite a lot of blood but I was okay. Bub was born with quite a large haemorrhage on her head to the side as she has a tiny fontanel which cause all The pressure from the birth canal to go to one side of her head. Luckily it was just needed to be monitored. Overall after 3 hours and 15 minutes my beautiful Charlotte Megan was born on the 8th of December 2016. All 8 pound 6oz and 52cms of her 😍. My life was complete as all I wanted since I was 8 was a little girl called Charlotte.
