Usually around 18-20 weeks is the norm, but they now have blood tests that you can take around 10 weeks to get the gender.

I found out at 15 weeks with both of my sons, but that early on isn't the most reliable, which is why they usually wait.

You can get blood tests done after 9 weeks to determine gender. Ultrasounds are usually done after 16 weeks in the office to determine gender. Some private places will give you a gender ulrtasound a couple weeks earlier, but you usually pay out of pocket for those.
