So I've been talking to this guy at school and we're not really dating but we act like we are. He's really sweet and very respectful and we text each other all day long. We talk about the future and he really wants to marry me one day and I'm not opposed to the idea, but that wouldn't happen until I'm well into my twenties (and who knows if we'll even work out). He's not my boyfriend, but he may as well be at this point. He's the first person I've ever felt loving emotions for and he might even be my first boyfriend. My parents know that he doesn't have plans for college and I do. They want us to stay friends cause they don't want him distracting me or leading me down the path that he's on (not motivated, weed, hates school). So far I feel like I've been influencing him, not him influencing me. He's better improving in school and he's happier. I don't want to tell him we can only be friends cause that would break his heart and mine too. I don't know what to do. We can't just stay friends. That's easier said than done.
