Did you have trouble pushing while on epidural?

I've heard some horror stories about the epidural where the moms couldn't feel themselves pushing so it was terrifying! For those women who did have trouble pushing, did you have to get a c section because of it or were you okay just had to push longer? I'm going back and forth between IV pain meds and the epidural. I know I may be able to handle the first part of contractions and maybe I might surprise myself and not want to get any type of medication! I just want to be aware of what can go wrong. Thanks ladies!
