Epidural?

Is the epidural not good to have it? Does it really mess up your back?🤔

It can have many side effects. You'll have to do through research and make an informed decision. I personally do not use any medications while laboring and delivering because of the research I've done.

I had it done and dr had it in on first try and only took about 5 min. Didn't have any issues with placement or removal and no headache after.

It was scary which is why with this baby I plan on doing it unmedicated.

I loved having it and I will probably do it next time too! I had a headache after but it was just like my usual migraine so I think it was that. My back is fine as well.

I got it and if I bend over for any period of time, I get a throbbing ache where they put it in. I've also been experiencing this sharp pain from my left hip bone down to the bottom of my butt cheek a few times since I got it. Not sure if it's related or not yet, but never happened before.

Really depends on how skilled your anaethetist is and your anatomy (if you have a slight anomaly it can make it harder to place)... they have their benefits just like they have their risks (like any medical procedure you do, just like childbirth carries its risks). You just need to ask your questions and do your research and decided what's good for you. When I had my 1st child 8 months ago I went it with the attitude that whatever pain relief I needed to get through it I would get but I only ended up just needing the gas and a shot of morphine so I could sleep for a few hrs (never taken anything stronger than codeine though so that might explain why I ended up extra drowsy) and by the time I woke up it was time to push pretty much

I had an epidural and had awful side effects and my back still hurts 11 months pp. but would I do it again yep. I had a 50 hour labor and when you need it you need it. I got the epidural after 30 hours and was so thankful for it.

I had an one a little over a year ago when I had my son and I've had absolutley no issues from it.
