Doctors and med students, could you give me some career advice?
Hi! I'm a high school junior who's trying to figure out what to do after high school. One option I'm seriously considering is premed. I think I might want to be a gynecologist. I love biology and learning about the human body. However, there are a few things I'm concerned about.
1. The time. It's 8 plus years! Part of me thinks this is a good choice for me because I like learning but holy crap. That is a lot. My life won't start till I'm almost thirty. How did you guys handle this?
2. I'm also considering computer science. I really want to live in a big city after I graduate. I'm concerned because with cs I can find a job wherever I want. If I go into med, will I have a harder time finding work in a big city? (like getting a good residency, etc. I know doctors are needed everywhere but this is still something I'm concerned about)
3. Did all the "blood and guts" bother you at first?
Thanks so much in advance. Any advice is appreciated. 💕
