advice needed!

I slept with a guy last weekend that I'd also slept with before at the beginning of the month last month. This time I think I may have contracted an STI from him and this would be my first. How long does it take for symptoms to become apparent? I'm going into the doctor tomorrow to get tested. If I do have one, how do I approach the situation with said guy?
