Who Cares?!?!

I don't get why we even have the natural/weave debate and why it's a big deal if people wear weave instead of the embracing their natural hair. Can anybody enlighten me on why it matters to other people how they wear their damn hair???? I love my natural hair but would NEVER insult another person for not loving theirs...the hair is all mine btw lol

Not posting my hair for attention...but I would love to see others embrace however tf they wanna wear their hair...

I personally think that regardless of race, you should be able to wear your hair HOWEVER you want. If you get offended because of someone else's style choices you need to get a life. Life is way too short to walk on eggshells. Express yourself! You're white and want cornrows? Go girl! You're black and want blonde weave? Get it! Awesome!

the way you do your hair is often a reflection of your relationship with assimilation. Often, but not always. A natural 4c Afro will have different assumptions associated with it than a relaxer. Not saying that any black style on black hair deserves ridicule, only trying to articulate why it's such a big frickin deal.

I don't know either but I always have white girls irl and on here coming at me/black girls for wearing weaves and always using it as an insult. Like uh, fuck off? It's not that big of deal?

I cut my hair to be different when I was in 6th grade. I though I was Halle Berry 😂 
I was CONSTANTLY made fun of. So when I thought it was appropriate (high school) I started wearing weave. 
I was working on growing out my natural hair. When I started struggling with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia I was "passed out for 2.5 hours and had to have a prolonged EEG where the nurses had to cut my "weave" out and ended up cutting my natural growth. And I've been wearing weave and throwing in protective styles ever since because my hair is growing out sooo weird now.

Honestly, I don't even think that wearing weave equals not loving your natural hair. Hair is like an accessory to me. We change the style according to our outfits. Whether that is weave or natural. There is no right or wrong as long as your hair is healthy. And you shouldn't even care about what other people do with their hair. It's not your business in the first place.

My ex bestfriend would get weave and explain it to me. I really love it. It can look so good when done right. But some I don't like. I get why people do it. Some people don't get it... you girls keep fucking slaying and don't worry about dumb topics like that. White girls have them but it's called extensions like it means anything different.

I'm not one to really give a flying fxck what anyone does with their hair. I've been natural all my life, never worn weave or extensions. But I just like my hair how it is. I know a lot of natural girls that wear wigs or weave and that's fine too. It's all about what makes you happy. The natural hair community is pretty accepting. I've only run across white girls who use wearing weave as an insult bc "black girls can't grow hair " or we get straight weave bc we wanna be white. 😂😂 as if anyone would actually WANT to impersonate a white girl. 🙄. White girls get perms, kinky weaves and cornrows and don't see anything wrong with it so why can't we wear some weave that goes to the floor if we want to? The whole weave or no weave debate has been used as an insult from white girls in my experience so that's really the only pov I can speak from.
