Baby shower fail

I had my baby shower this weekend. I hosted my own shower because my immediate family who wanted to fell on hard times financially. I invited over 50 people, all who I thought were close family and friends and only 6 people showed up. My mom, my sisters, my aunt, and myself. My baby daddy family didn't even show up. I wasted so much time and money on this party and I'm disappointed. I cried at the shower and even more when I got home. My boyfriend called his family to see why they didn't show up and they simply claimed that something came up. I'm sure it wasn't important since my boyfriend didn't know anything about it. I always attend everything that I'm invited to and I would have thought these people would have did the same thing for me. I'm actually over these family members and friends and probably won't be talking to them for a while.
