Does your baby take vitamin D drops?

My son was sent home from the hospital with them. They said a lot of moms are vitamin D deficient and to give it to him every day. None of my mom friends have heard of giving it to their baby. How important is it? He hates the taste.

Pediatrician recommended Baby D Drops because there is no vitamin D in breast milk. That brand is literally one drop a day because it's so concentrated. Most days I forget to give it to LO 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you are breastfeeding you can take a supplement of 6400mcg and then there'll be enough in your breast milk. They've done studies on it. 
If you do give drops instead, try to find one that isn't really sugary out have artificial ingredients.

I exclusively bf and my daughters pediatrician strongly recommend them as well I bought them then did some research on them and I've read alot of people have had problems with them. Babies having rashes, getting fussy, puking.,.. and I'm on the fence about giving them to her I wonder if it's possible for me to take them maybe that would give her enough vitamin d...

It's being​ recommended in the UK now for all exclusively breastfed babies. We put the drops in a bottle of expressed milk as my husband gives her a nightfeed by bottle.

Try the ones that you just put a drop on your nipple or in a bottle. My baby had those and then I started multi vitamin drops. (It's now recommended in the UK that they have them from birth unless they're getting a certain amount of formula which has it added in)

Vitamin D is so important for us and our babies. Vitamin D deficiencies are linked to so many things. One drop in the mouth each morning! I also take some too :)

Vitamin D is to help prevent rickets. Baby only needs to take it if s/he is exclusively breastfed

Very important. I have drops I just put on my nipple once a day. One and done! You can also drop it in a bottle.
