the man of my dreams proposed!

I was in an abusive relationship for 3 and a half years. My ex was very manipulative and emotionally abusive. He was an alcoholic and binge drinker. One day I gave him the choice to choose between keeping me or keeping the rum and his response was "Don't make me make that choice." I knew then that I could no longer stay in that relationship. Almost a week after I broke up with him I was introduced to a wonderful, funny, amazing man by a dear friend (she's a second mother to me). Things took off from there and I'm pleased to say, 9 months after meeting, he proposed!! I'm telling a brief version of my story in hopes that it will encourage someone going through something similar. Sometimes to need to let go of something in order for something greater to happen. Just have faith!
