Hit and run

My son and I were involved in a hit and run this morning. My son is fine and I went to the hospital to check out my baby. All they did was listen to the heartbeat and check my blood pressure. That's it. Nothing else. I thought they would check more but they sent me home to rest until next week when I have my next appointment. Has anybody else had any experience with anything like this?
