How many outfits do I need?

I had my baby shower this past week and we received a ton of clothes. I know you have to wash them before baby can wear them so I just want to be prepared. A lot of the clothes we got were between 0-3 months and then 6months+. Should I just wash all at once? Or only wash a couple and then wash as baby gets bigger?!

I only wash what I know I am going to be using. My first got so many clothes that she didn't wear half.. The ones she didn't get to wear before she outgrew I took back for a size she could wear. So I don't like taking tags off of everything to wash so I just do alittle at a time.

I washed it all. Not to sound rude or ungreatful at all because I'm definitely greatful but I figured I didn't bug the clothing. If he grows out of it before he wears it oh well it is what it is. And once I don't need it anymore I'll either wait to see if I have a boy again ever or I can give the stuff to someone who needs it. Plus I'd rather not have enough of the clothing washed. If I need more I don't want to have to quick throw a load in because I didn't prepare sooner.

I washed like 20 sets of newborn clothes...my little stayed small for a couple months and just washed as they grew

My cousin when she had her first baby washed all at once, and then regretted it because there were so many items her daughter never even wore that she could no longer exchange. I'd exchange or return some and then also wash as you go, so that you can also make more exchanges as necessary down the road.
