Ugh I've made my peace with it... though I still get annoyed when I text him during the day and it takes him forever to reply but he usually always responds within seconds of my goodnight text knowing that means I won't start a conversation 😝

Unless he's out performing surgery, working construction, giving a lecture, I suppose just working or driving in general, then he should be able to respond to you most of the time. Yes, rare occasions come up where you can't check your phone, but if he's liking shit on instagram or posted photos on FB, and not responding to you? Fuck boi.
