Safe as long as it isn't too hot. Heat has really helped relieve some of my back pain.

I take hot showers a lot to help with nausea. My doc told me as long as internal temp doesn't exceed 102. That's often what can happen in a spa or jacuzzi. But it also helps if you don't apply directly, out a paper towel down or just heat up to warm

Its safe, but I would recommend ice instead. Its much more relieving than heat. Heat can sometimes make it worse.
