Called My Baby Fat?

Question

How is this okay? My husband and I went out to dinner and one of the ladies eating there said our baby was, "husky and big for 10 months." I'm confused as how? She barely weighs 15 lbs 🤔 I had to control my husband from going off and causing a scene. I just smiled and said thank you. My husband is upset that I'm not more upset.

15 pounds for 10 months isn't fat at all.  However babies are supposed to be fat.  My youngest is 11.5 months and even before she was born I called her fat baby.  There was a time when being a fat baby was a GREAT thing as it meant they were healthy.  She likely didn't say it to be rude.

Our baby was husky and chunky and it was the best! People made comments all the time about him being a football player when he was bigger. I doubt she meant it in a negative way. Try to shrug it off and also, you may kinda want to try to get used to it. People are going to make all kind of comments as your child ages. People love to give their opinions. ☺️

What the heck? Did people forget how to just say "Your baby is so precious" and be on their way? So opinionated for no good reason. Plus there's no way to make any accurate statement about anything like that cus my son was 20 pounds at 9 months and everyone said how small he looked.

This never did bother me. People would ask me if I cared that people called my babies fat, but it was just never an issue for me. Who cares? Lol, they are babies! 
 If someone was to call my school aged child fat, then I'd be angry, but I do my best at feeding a healthy balanced diet and don't have an issue with obesity...and hopefully wouldn't in the future!

I think when it crosses a certain age, it's just flat out rude.

Ignore them. My son is 38lbs at 20 months and was 26lbs at 10 months. He's tall and in age 3, sometimes age 4 clothes. My husband is 6'4 and big built- just muscular, not fat. He finds it difficult to find clothes as 2XL clothes always have room for a belly that he doesn't have. Luckily, I've got a very supportive health visitor who thinks my son is absolutely fine, just big built like daddy. Strangers can be annoying. He actually doesn't look as heavy as he is so I don't get many comments about weight- unless some poor, unsuspecting soul tries to pick him up.  It annoys me when they think he's older than he is and scold me for treating my 4 year old like a 2 year old!! Lol. He's not even 2!

My son is a month away from turning 3. He weighs 30lbs and only wears 3T clothing due to his height. His waist is at 24m. A counselor at WIC told me I need to rethink his diet because he's borderline overweight. Some people just don't know when/how to keep their mouths shut.

Well when my cousin delivered her baby and I went to the hospital and saw him I was like awww look how cute and chunky he is, I didn't mean that he was fat or anything but he had very plump cheeks and being that he was wrapped up in a little sheet that's all I saw and she snapped lmao like NO ! He's not chunky ! 😡 lmao and I was like damn okayyy sorryyyy lol 😂 I guess it's just a mom thing, like you're protecting your baby and you're willing and ready to bite anyone's head off who you feel is out of line, as far as that lady goes yeah she probably should have never said that it's none of her business and honestly sometimes people don't know how to keep their comments to themselves
