My birth preference was a home birth with a midwife but unfortunately we're moving about a month prior to my due date, and their are no midwives in the area, so I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll have to give birth with a doctor in the hospital. I have found one Doula who is willing to travel to our location for the birth, and her fee is about $800. I'm starting to feel hesitant about the cost - have any of you ladies birthed with a doula, and if so, was the cost worth it to you?
