TTC straight after D&C

Hiya. I just had a d&c yesterday after a missed miscarriage. My doctor said emotionally I should wait a few months to try conceive again, but there is no medical reason not to try straight away. I understand it would be difficult to date the pregnancy if I don't have a period first. However was just wondering if anyone managed to have a successful pregnancy soon after a d&c? How long did everyone wait to TTC and how long did it take people to get pregnant again? I'm still getting positive pregnancy and ovulation tests, does anyone know how long it will take until my hormones will go back down and I can get negative tests? Thanks for the help lovely ladies xxx
