5 months milestones??

So my baby Abigail is turning 5 months on Tuesday. Now I know all baby's develops on their own pace but I'm starting to worry a bit. Abby just rolled from tummy to back yesterday for the first time. And it hasn't been from lack of trying for a whole month and lots of tummy time. But she doesn't sit not even with support. She usually flops sideways or forward even if she is on a pillow. Maybe I'm crazy but I'm seeing these 5 month super babies that are already crawling, sitting up unsupported, and even standing with support. I'm just worried I'm doing something wrong. Anyone have any advice or comments? No rude comments please I'm a FTM .

Don't worry mama - the posts about babies being "advanced" can be misleading as those kids are in the minority (and people like to brag 😉). If you're worried, call the doctor - but again, doesn't seem worrisome.

FTM here too. My LO will be 5 months on the 30th and she adamantly refuses to roll. She did it once a month ago but hasn't managed since. But she enjoys sitting up so she can see her world. My friend has a 7 month old who won't sit up because he thinks it's funny to throw himself down to the ground and roll around instead. Like you said, each baby has their own timing and level of determination. I'm sure a year from. Now when you are chasing your perfect little toddler around the park you will look back on these worries and smile knowing change was just around the corner. Keep doing what you are doing and trust those momma instincts!

My 1st son didn't sit till he was almost 9 months! But he walked at 12 months and has been just fine and very athletic and energetic.
My 5 month old sits with to s of support for a bit at a time, but doesn't roll over at all! I don't care. I seriously think it will all catch up :)

Agreeing with everyone who says not to worry. Also, sometimes these things come all of a sudden. My son sitting up on his own happened so quickly that our daycare provider was skeptical when I said he could do it. Similarly, with reaching out to grab things; he went from no interest to suddenly doing it all the time (for better or for worse).

It's also partly motivation. He rolls front to back and inches around In his crib a bunch at night and wakes himself up, but during tummy time he generally just lays there. *shrug* It'll all come in its own time.

Mines a 'super baby' I guess, BUT one of her baby friends sounds like your baby! She is NOT behind. This baby is 5 months, her dad is the baby gym owner we go to, she has rolled once and cannot sit, stand, or crawl. And she is perfect! Her mom brings her to the class, she is right at the same pace as the other 5.5 month old. So I wouldn't worry. My baby is -no joke- is keeping up with the 8 and 9 month old girls in her class. But it's not typical by any means!!

Most likely no need to worry.  But, just make sure she has good muscle tone and can push down on her legs if you hold her up (instead of just pulling her legs up and not putting any weight on them, or flopping down on her knees). If her legs are strong and she's not overly floppy with her muscle tone, I wouldn't worry.  If she has poor muscle tone or doesn't support her weight on her legs when being held, I would talk to the doctor.  My friend's baby ended up having severe vitamin D deficiency when she was a baby, had two broken bones before one year old, and some of the main clues were her low muscle tone and not supporting her weight (both of which the Dr should have noticed, but didn't).  If you're worried, ask your Dr for advice.

I wouldn't be concerned unless your pediatrician is. My first born was super lazy took awhile to regain his weight. He took awhile to do everything.  That being said my youngest is standing while supported sitting supported tries to crawl but isnt quite there. All babies do things on thier time.... if your doctor isn't concerned you shouldn't be.  Milestones are guidelines.

My girl is 5 and a half months so only a few weeks ahead of yours and she's only just starting to roll as well. She can't crawl or sit up unsupported yet. Think these are quite advanced skills for this age. She can sit up in a baby chair but until a few weeks she would be very floppy and lean to one side. She'll get there!

I don't think there's any reason to worry! My brother in law when he was a baby did nothing and I mean nothing but lay on his back until he was 9 months then started running around one day! Literally learned to roll, scoot, crawl, stand and run in one day!
