5 1/2 mo has cold - tips?

Hey Mamas! So my 5 and 1/2 month old son has a cold. Does anyone have any tricks of the trade besides saline nasal drops, nose frida, bath, steam, humidifier? Nighttime is the worst...he wakes himself up coughing especially when he's flat on his back (so diaper changes are brutal too). I get nervous that he'll choke. So that we could both get some sleep last night, I brought him into our guest room and cradled him in bed. The coughing stopped bc he was slightly upright I guess. Any suggestions welcome! First Time Mom over here so I'm probably worrying too much. Thank you!
