Depression & breastfeeding
My son was born March 9th at 37 weeks weighing 7lbs 13 oz. I felt love for him right away. He's my 3rd child & I had anxiety about being able to mentally cope after giving birth. Everything was great, breastfeeding was going well & he was sleeping like a champ! Until, the gassy, fussy, no sleeping 5th week... I was crying & screaming into my pillow all day the entire week! We finally found a method to the gassy madness, but I was still a wreck. Even after getting a lot of rest & my husband taking a day off to help I still felt angry & sad. I went for my 6th week checkup last week & spilled my guts to my Dr. He decided to put me on Zoloft to level my anxiety. It's been a few days & I already feel better! I think it's decreasing my milk supply a tiny bit, but I'm taking fenugreek to help boost it. Anyway, my baby seems more calm now that I'm calm & I just wanted y'all to know that our babies feel the atmosphere & sometimes the fussier we are the fussier they are! Never hesitate to call your Dr 😊
