My SO and I are good friends with a lady we both worked with. Actually my SO still works with her. She lives in a duplex and come summer time we're going to be moving into the apartment next to her. Our 5 year old adores this woman and we are expecting our second child a couple months before we move. There's one problem. She smokes her cigars in her living room. I'm fine with it... Like when I go to visit and hang out. Its her place and I respect that. My problem is that when my son was a baby my FIL smoked in the main part of the house. It wasn't until my constant bitching and the Dr saying his smoking was a possible cause for all his ear infections that he finally stopped and would only smoke in his bedroom. I know my son will want to hang out with her and he'll probably be running back and forth between doors but I don't want him around all that smoke, nor do I want my new baby around it. What do I do? Its her place so I can't ask her not to smoke in her living room. Shes already excited about us moving next to her so she can see the kids all the time. Im just nervous about my son being in her place and I don't want to take my new baby in there.
