Just got a Diva Cup. Looks pretty daunting. Any tips? Suggestions?

BREAK THE SEAL BEFORE YOU PULL IT OUT! 😱

To do that, slide your index finger up next to it, and push in towards the cup. This should break the seal enough to then gently pull it out without feeling like you're sucking your uterus out.

Also, when inserting it, make sure you make a deal, and that your cervix is kind of resting inside the cup. I remember that took me a few attempts to realise!

I've been using a menstrual cup for 10 years; once you get the hang of it, its way better than disposable products :)

I found the diva cup relatively simple to use but one tip i have is if you can use tampons put one in whilst you remove the cup to clean it stops alot of mess. Or you get blood on the outside once cup is in i found and was then thinking it was leaking or in wrongly.

Practice folding it before trying to insert, and even after you start keep practicing and testing out different folds until you figure out what works best for you. And don't be discouraged if it's uncomfortable at first or it leaks. Wearing pantiliners while you're still getting the hang of it is a good idea.

Learning the correct position for the cup is tricky and it's specific to each person so you'll have to do some trial and error.

Also, and I'm not sure what's normal for people but I typically empty it three times on the first day of my period (once in the morning, once midday, and once before sleep), and then just twice a day after that (morning and before bed).

The reason is that it's very difficult to empty it without making a mess on your pants, so I empty it before I get dressed in the morning so I can do it naked. Same for night time, I just do it right before I shower. That first day though is a bit heavy for me to wait all day, so I'll make a little toilet paper drop cloth of sorts to protect my pants and underwear from any spills. It's obnoxious but it works.

If it's in the right way you should be able to turn it while it's inside you ... weird since you would think it wasn't suctioned then but it is! I could feel if mine wasn't in right, it was uncomfortable and just felt like it didn't fit the way it should.

I love my lena cup - so wish I had tried it earlier.   I used a panty liner the first time I used it to make sure I didn't have any leaking. The more you use it, the easier it'll get. There are different brands if you find the Diva doesn't fit you the best. Good luck!
