Experience with Long Drive to Hospital?
My husband and I recently moved to a tiny, tiny town in southern Colorado (under 100 people tiny) and we are loving it. We previously lived north of Denver where our hospital that we had our first son at was only a 5 minute drive from our apartment. I'm due June 15th with our second son and the hospital we'll be going to is an hour away. 😳
I'm mostly making myself nervous because it's a lot of new unknowns for me (having a second child, what it will be like when my son meets his brother, giving birth in a new place with new doctors, long drive, just a whole new area).
My first son's labor was not quick by any means, though my contractions started at 5 minutes away randomly one night when I got woken up by the pain. So my labor started at 2 in the morning with him and he was born at 8 that night. The epidural really slowed things down for me though.
I'm so nervous I won't make it in time to receive the epidural or that this will be a quick birth and I'll be one of those women having their baby in their car 😂😳
Any tips for me or what was your experience if you lived far away from your hospital you were delivering at? Thanks so much in advance 😊
