Ovarian cyst while pregnant

Long story short I ended up in ER due to excruciating back pain. During my ultrasound they found a large cyst in my ovary 11cm. My doc is telling me they may need to operate. Has anyone experienced anything like this? I go see high risk docs for 2nd opinion. But so far this is what I have been told. 1 if we do surgery we have to wait until 2nd trimester. And I run risk of miscarriage. But if I do nothing then as baby grows it can push on cyst and make it twist then that means emergency surgery and losing an ovary.
