Call the cops and don't get myself physically involved.

I would intervene. Ask if they need help. I was in an abusive relationship at some point and a stranger stepped in. My boyfriend and I were arguing outside of a restaurant. He was yelling and just being aggressive. This man came over and asked if we were alright. We both said yes but he then asked me if I could help him with something. I went with him and he said he knew I needed help. He drove me to a shelter and everything. I thought it was really nice. I would now do the same if i was in his situation.

I would call the police and not get involved. Can't do shit if you're getting your ass whooped. 😪

Call the cops 👮 and stay there until cops showed up. Most I would do is tell them to stop and cut it out. Calm down but not gonna step in between and get hit too.

Ah if they're both hitting each other but it's open handed I'm probably gonna mind my own business... I dunno I grew up in the metro Detroit area, snitching is frowned upon. Like my grade school teachers told us never to tell on anyone and if you tattled on someone you got into more trouble than them. So it's kind of ingrained in me not to call the police. But if it looked like it was going to end really badly then yeah I'd call, I don't want to watch someone get beat to a pulp.

I'd make sure I still have them in eyesight while I call the police, I actually did this one time. I was picking up my mom from work, while next door there was a bar with a couple outside. As my mom was getting in the car, the man slammed the woman into the pavement, got on top of her and began slamming her head into the pavement. I backed up into a parking space, turned my lights off, and called the police. My mom recorded the action on her phone to show the police when they arrived. We stayed until the man was arrested and the woman was taken to the hospital. The police spoke to us to get an idea of what happened. He said we saved that woman's life and that we did the right thing by not getting physically involved. The officer went on to say that often times good citizens think there belong by getting into the dispute, but it most always ends badly for the good citizen.
