children's Benadryl for babies?

Question

Doc told me to give my 9 month old 2ml of Benadryl for her allergies so she can stop coughing at night. She's been coughing until the throws up. 
Anybody else given their babies children's Benadryl?

I've never had to do this, but I've heard of it. With my last they perscribed something much stronger (can't think of the name of it now) and that one was prescription only. My last two babies have needed Zantac which is for adults, they just adjust it for their weight.

My daughter has! She took it for an allergic reaction to penicillin, and it worked wonders. It didn't have any change with her mood or sleep schedule(:
