Bf doesn't show affection

My boyfriend and I have been together a little over 3 months. He used to send me cute text like babe I wish you were here or i wish you could take a nap with me right now. He doesn't send texts like that anymore. He never compliments me either. I compliment him all the time. I noticed our relationship seemed different the past week or so and decided to ask him about it. He said we've been together 3 months I don't have to say stuff like that anymore. You should already know I like you. His reply shocked me and I was upset. I told him it would still be nice to receive a compliment or a cute text every now and then. He didn't seem too happy and said I guess if you really want me to I can. He doesn't support me anymore either. If he has a problem I'm always there for him. I told him I was nervous about my road test and he said well don't do anything stupid and maybe you'll pass. I was so upset and shocked last night. I feel like that was the worst he's ever treated me. I don't want to break up but then again I feel like he's not understanding. I just don't know what to do.
