Unemployed by choice: what do you deserve?
There's one topic my husband and I disagree completely. He is a socialist and I'm capitalist-ish. I say ish because I believe every human being has the right to have access to health care, a roof over their heads and food on the table, whether you work or not. Now that's already quite a socialist view.
But my husband (and many other Europeans) think that people who choose to sit at home and do nothing should get all the above PLUS money for hobbies, internet, TV etc. I disagree with this so much! I think you deserve to receive what you need to live. Anything you want, you gotta work for. I am not okay that I pay taxes to fund someone's hobbies! I'd much rather see more money go towards people who are forced into unemployment.
And yeah, there are a LOT of people who choose to be unemployed.
What do you think? Should someone who chooses not to work get money from the state, at all? Just enough to live comfortably? Enough to live a good life.
*update* I'm not here to pick a fight or to see who is right or wrong, I was just wondering what people think ✌🏽
