cheating?

So there was a post about telling someone if you knew they were being cheated on.. & honestly I was shocked at how many of you "women" said that they wouldn't say anything..
I was wondering how the hell?
Is it bc you wouldn't want to know if you were being cheated on?
Is it bc you think Std's are a joke (tends to be more common when you have a partner sleeping around.)
Is it bc you don't want a confrontation?
Or bc you don't want to ruin a friendship?
Is it bc you really confuse staying out of someone's relationship, with saving them from it? 
I've thought about it & it honestly confuses the hell out of me. I would consider someone to be more of my friend if they spoke up. & if I knew one of my friends were being unfaithful in a relationship, it wouldn't stop me from telling the innocent party. 
So please enlighten me?

I'm in the camp that would tell. I've been cheated on and it was devastating to find out that everyone knew but me, everyone! At the very least, id approach the cheater. I'd tell him I knew and that he had 24 hrs to come clean to his wife, or I would for him. Let him do the dirty work. Let's just for the sake of argument talk abo

ut why you wouldn't tell:

1) My friend tried to tell me and I didn't believe her and in the end it damaged our friendship irreparably

2) not all relationships are monagomous. We don't know what happens behind closed doors. They could have an open marriage and that could be a secret she doesn't want shared

3) she already knows and resigned herself to the fact that he cheats. Opening that wound again could be painful for a woman choosing to stay in a marriage where her spouse disrespects her

4) maybe it's not cheating. My father was at lunch with me once. Someone saw us (not knowing I was his daughter) and called my Mom with talk about how he was cheating. Nope. Just a father having lunch with his adult daughter. Sitting across the table from someone of a different sex doesn't equal cheating

That's all I can come up with now. But I'm sure these great ladies could come up with more.

If it was a friend of mine who I knew well, I'd probably get proof and take it to them. But if I don't know them well, I'd probably mind my own business.

I've been told and am so grateful to the woman who told me. I thanked her and told her I appreciate it. I'd always tell someone else, what they do with that information is up to them.
