Nutramigen?! ugh another formula question!

We left the pediatrician tonight with them wanting to start him on Nutramigen. This would be formula number 4 for us. Our LO is 3 months and we've tried regular Enfamil, Gentlease, just started the AR and the last 2 days have been untolerable. He screams and cries all day in that pain cry.. we've tried Zantac with no improvement, they just called in a new med but need insurance authorization. Anyone use nutramigen? Should I stick with the AR instead? Feeling so defeated.... it's been a rough 3 months :(

I didn't take a bath with him, we sat on the floor of the tub but the shower was going. I sat like i was sitting for a bath but shower was running.  So the water would run down his back. Does that make sense? He'd be on my chest, or up on my shoulder, so not a lot of water on him.

We found that if I held him in my shoulder, his tummy pressed into it, he'd stop crying. I think it helped release his gas. I'm not really sure.

Bicycle legs never helped m my Son either.

One more question, is he sleeping flat?  Or do you have him elevated?

Let us know how it goes. I could tell a difference in about 3 days. Overnight my Son was a different baby. He just woke up one morning and his tummy was okay.

He's 16 months now and still no dairy! He can eat cheese and products with dairy in it but not straight milk.

So literally every finger and toe is crossed Haha. We started this morning and I swear he's been a different child but it may be I'm hoping this is the fix... his spit ups are 80% better, he took a 3 hour nap late afternoon (usually only lasts 45 mins tops) and his fussiness is not nearly as bad as the last few days... let's see if he makes it more than 2-3 hours through the night! Thank you all for your input with the formula! I will update and let you know how he's doing and I hope we finally found a solution to making him comfy!

I'm sorry!! My LO only pooped once every other day or every other other day, so like once every 3 days.

Have they checked his stool for blood?

Have you tried 1 less scoop of formula per ounces of water. For instance, we finally ended up giving My LO one scoop to 3 ounces of water.

We are having a hard time finding a formula for our LO too! I breastfed for 2 1/2 weeks and she wasn't hardly gaining weight and was not satisfied with my milk so I put her on similac pro sensitive and it gave her awful gas so I changed it to simlac for spit up because she was spitting up then swallowing it, that gave her horrible diarrhea. I changed her to enfamil gentlease, by this time she started breaking out in a eczema like rash that I could not get rid off, was fussy and had horrible gas (my husband was like what are you feeding her this is awful!), the pediatrician put her on soy and her rash cleared up, her gas got better. Then she got HORRIBLE constipation and Nothing helped. I call the pediatrician again this morning and she put her on the nutramigen. She seems to be doing good so far and has already had a stool that was softer. Hopefully the nutramigen works for your little one and mine both! 🤞🏻😊

My kids both had colic and reflux  really really bad. The only formula that worked for my daughter was soy. We also had to put oatmeal in her formula cause if we didn't it was coming back up. She was on a prescription as well but she also had to go to the drs every few weeks to get the prescription upped because when she gained weight the prescription would have to go to a higher dosage. Also my daughter always slept elevated. She actually spent most of her days sleeping in a bouncer cause it had the best elevation for her. Good luck it's tough and can be daunting but it will get better as long as you have a dr that is helping you!

Seriously on the verge of tears (nothing new at this point) the dr said we would see a change by now. His fussiness/pain cry is just as bad if not worse and his spit ups have gotten SIGNIFICANTLY worse since starting Nutramigen. He is pooping 1-3 times more than usual daily  which is liquid and his gas is way worse and he he is so uncomfortable and looks in pain when trying to get the gas out. I took it upon myself to call the local children's hospital GI department while waiting for the pediatrician to call back... they had nothing until July, but the nice lady could sense my defeat and called the local office and got him in tomorrow with the specialist! The pediatrician said I did the right thing... hopefully we have some answers tomorrow... fingers crossed once again 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Nutramagin (spelling) worked wonders for us. Really a miracle formula .  She for sick off of my breast milk and everything else we tried.  We ended up in the hospital so many times due to failure to thrive . She wore 3/6 month clothing at a year.  This formula saves our life . Well saved her life. I switched my daughter to lebenswert bio, and it worked wonders for us...it's from Germany I believe, and she has been clear of tummy problems since! We don't even have to use probiotics anymore... it's all in German, but totally worth a try at least. It has no corn syrup solids, and no maltodextrin. The ingredient list is so much cleaner. There are clear instructions and English ingredient lists available. You do have to special order it though... it has been completely worth it for us. Good luck! I hope you find something that works for your poor baby!
