Does anyone exclusively pump? Do you find it easier than breastfeeding? I'm having a difficult time breast feeding because I feel like baby doesn't get enough directly from the boob. She's always hungry.

It can take a while to establish your milk supply. My daughters were always hungry, but I just stopped looking at the clock, gave them access to both breasts at every feeding and it was not that bad (they had crazy growth curves and as teenagers are now slim). Pumping would take more time IMO, and a pump is not as effective as a baby who latches well.

You make more milk when baby latches directly. I pumped a lot because I had really sore nipples but a LOT of women find their supply drops when they start exclusively pumping. Also when baby latches directly your enzymes mesh together and that's how baby gets all the beneficial antibodies they need to stay healthy. My suggestion would be to try to have baby latch as much as possible and pump after and supplement with a bottle either formula or pumped milk. What I did was give a bottle of formula during the midnight feeding and then just pump and I would get enough milk to be able to nurse the next day and then use that after every nursing session if she was still hungry and then I'd pump right after. Does that make sense? If that's too much for you which is totally understandable I barely made it on that schedule then maybe just try to have baby latches once a day just to get those enzymes meshing and then pump throughout the day every time baby eats and you might want to try powerbpumpingn sessions if you notice your supply drop! Hope this helps. I had a lot of trouble nursing and I was so thankful for the tips I got from experienced moms.
