What's your opinion on vaccines? Debating weather to get our baby vaccinated or not.

Well there's absolutely no scientific proof that vaccinations harm children. People who don't vaccinate their kids are single-handedly responsible for bringing back diseases that have been eradicated like polio. 
It's not just about your child . part of the importance of vaccinating is that there are hundreds of thousands of children that are allergic to vaccines and unable to be vaccinated. The goal is to surround every individual that can't be vaccinated with thousands of individuals that are, therefore preventing the spread of deadly diseases.
People who don't vaccinate not only put their own children at risk for serious diseases, they put hundreds of thousands of other lives at risk.
All that aside, good luck getting your kid into any kind of daycare or school if you opt to skip them . Most won't accept children that are unvaccinated. Probably find your child is rejected for most play dates as well.

I believe parents should have a say in every aspect of raising their child- EXCEPT this one. It's a public health and safety issue. The fact that this is even an option now astounds me. Please vaccinate your children, so others don't... ya know... DIE

Why would you not want to vaccinate your children? The diseases they protect from are so much worse. There are potential side effects, sure but the same goes for any medical procedure. Herd immunity is also important for people, children, and babies who are not strong enough to get vaccinated themselves.

The best thing you can do is ask EXPERTS for their opinions (doctors, pharmacists, etc. ) so many women on here think they know it all because they've googled a lot.

My mom is extremely anti-vaccine, so we decided to do our research. I found that most of the anti-vaccine information websites have little to no scientific backing and some of the top "doctors" are not medical doctors at all (one had a PhD in journalism. Credible doctor for medical advice? No.)
That being said, I'm not willing to blindly accept what I'm told from anyone without evidence. We are taking it case by case, but even if the worst is all true, I'd rather have an autistic kid than one dead of something I could have prevented.

I thank god my parents vaccinated me, I'm also thankful I live in a time where vaccinations are available. I completely understand why people can be so fearful of them and sometimes (very rarely) people have adverse reactions. I work in a clinic and along with the pediatrician I work with recommend vaccines everyday, I see the same babies and kids come back routinely that are happy and healthy and haven't had any issues with the vaccinations they have received, besides the occasional "emotional trauma" parents go through having to watch their kids get a shot, lol. I believe vaccinations are great and I think a lot of the people that don't vaccinate would change their minds if they had to experience or watch first hand as a loved one suffered through the sometimes fatal consequences of these diseases, but alas thanks to vaccines it's been a very long time since we've seen polio or diphtheria or pertussis and countless others.

As a pediatric nurse please, please vaccinate. I don't care if you do a modified or delayed schedule, whatever, but please. Unless you're ready to see your baby's heart rate skyrocket to above 200 because she's coughing so hard she can't catch her breath and turns blue,  or you're ready to watch me stick a suction tube down her nose every four hours to suck up the snot he can't cough up on his own, or have them need to have a breathing tube because they've exhausted themselves trying to breathe on their own. It's heartbreaking to watch babies struggle when it could have been prevented. You CANNOT catch the flu from the vaccine. And even if they get the wrong strain and baby still gets sick, the effects and severity are lessened.

To me, this shouldn't even be a question. Risk your child getting serious illnesses or vaccinate. You chose a doctor because you trust them and their training. They recommend vaccinations. Why would you question them? There's very little negatives about a vaccine. Your arm (or leg or butt or whatever gets the shot) will hurt for a few minutes. Depending on the shot a possible SLIGHT (maybe a whole degree) temperature for a short period. That's it. All better than measles, polio or anything else you get vaccinated against.
