can I mix breast milk with formula?

I am not producing enough milk on my own and need to supplement with formula. Can I mix my pumped milk with Enfamil newborn? I have been doing separate bottles but not enjoying all the dishes. Wondering if it's fine to just put them together??

You can but I wouldn't. I also have low supply so we need to supplement. Take his example. Say you mix 2 ounces breastmilk with 2 ounces of formula to give to your baby. But your baby doesn't take the whole thing. How much of what's wasted and needs to be thrown out was breastmilk, which is very hard for us low suppliers to get, and how much was formula? My LC recommended never mixing the two for this very reason. If it's the dishes that are your concern put your expressed milk in the bottle first and feed to baby. When finished rinse and then do formula in the same bottle.

I use to do it, doctor said it was fine. If my baby took 3 oz and I only produced 1oz I would prepare 2 oz of formula and mix my 1oz of breast milk to the formula.

Yes you can as long as the formula is liquid as well. Can't mix breast milk with powdered formula.
