Would this be wrong?

Question

I want to marry my boyfriend and even though I don't want to rush him he is taking quite long, I know he doesn't really have the money right now because we are about to move soon and we have a child coming but my question is: would it be wrong if I buy myself a promise ring? I don't want him to give me the side eye, but if I can't get a ring from him, I want a ring from myself saying "I promise not to keep waiting for your ass to propose to me" 
"I promise to love myself" 
"I promise to move on in (insert amount of time here) if you don't have my ring" 
Things like that.
Plus it'll look gorgeous on my finger 😊

A promise ring isn't going to make him love you or more or want to marry you any more than he already does. I don't think it's wrong of him to want to be able to financially provide that for you. I personally wouldn't buy myself a ring.

I wouldn't say "wrong", I would say strange. I've not heard of someone buying their own promise ring.
You could buy him one, and that may nudge him to see how important it is to you.

My unpopular opinion. Shame on him - he should take you to the courthouse and marry you. You have a baby coming and you're living together but he doesn't have the money?! You can always have a really nice ceremony later in life.

Sorry hon - he should do the right thing and marry you now. A promise ring to yourself is pretty much that - only a meaningful gift to yourself.

I deleted my comment because going back and forth on the internet isn't my thing. I just saw the last part you added though. You aren't pathetic. It's not wrong of you to want to marry someone you love. And you aren't wrong if you move on (not saying now) but after waiting for so long. I wouldn't buy the ring but I would talk to him and tell him that you want to eventually get married. Even if you go to the courthouse it's literally only 60 bucks to get married. And later on down the road when you are stable you can have a big wedding. It's not wrong of you to not want to waste your life away. And people can comment on this and say whatever idgaf really. But you can't help how you feel.

What exactly would you be promising yourself? Lol. It's not coming from him so it would mean absolutely nothing. Can't hold him to a promise ring that he didn't choose to buy or give you.
