Frustrated with piercing!!

Uuugggh, my cartilage piercing is like 5 months old now, but the silly thing will not stop getting swollen! I have anonometal (titanium) in it so it's not the jewelry. It's most likely the bar length but every time it's not swollen and I go to get it changed it swells up and they can't change it out for a shorter bar! It gets swollen all the time and is tender when it's swollen. If I didn't pay $100+ for this piercing I would've given up on it already. 🙄 I clean it with a sterile saline solution as well, max 2 times a day. I'm honestly just so frustrated!
